What are Scouts?

The Scout Section is the middle section of the movement, and you can join from the age of 10 and half to 14. Once you become a scout, you will take part in a wide range of activities. These might include Sailing, Camping, Climbing, being trained in first aid, outdoor cooking on open fires and lots more.

There are various Badges and awards which can be gained while you are scout, the main Award's are called Challenge awards, these are here to help you gain basic Scouting skills and to further your own development. The scout section offer over 70 Activity badges covering a wide range of interests and pursuits, these can be achieved as an individual base's or as the Troop. Once you have gained at least 5 Challenge Awards you can move on to the Highest Award in the Scout Section called the Chief Scout's Gold Award.
